NEVER ARGUE WITH A WOMAN

One morning, the husband returns the boat to their lakeside cottage after several hours of fishing and decides to take a nap.

Although not familiar with the lake, the wife decides to take the boat out.

She motors out a short distance, anchors, puts her feet up, and begins to read her book. The peace and solitude are magnificent.

Along comes a Fish and Game Warden in his boat. He pulls up alongside the woman and says, "Good morning, Ma'am. What are you doing?"

"Reading a book," she replies, (thinking, "isn't that obvious?")

"You're in a Restricted Fishing Area," he informs her.

"I'm sorry, officer, but I'm not fishing..I'm reading"

"Yes, but I see you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any moment. I'll have to take you in and write you up."

"If you do that, I'll have to charge you with sexual assault," says the woman.

"But I haven't even touched you," says the Game Warden.

"That's true, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any moment." "Have a nice day ma'am," and he left.

MORAL: Never argue with a woman who reads. It's likely she can also think.

I've never know another baby who is as good at getting his picture taken as this little man. He looks straight into the camera and holds still, and it pays off. Now we just have to work on looking happy.

I have been without this deliciousness for two months, and finally today I was reunited. I've had problems with kidney stones for the past two months and to be safe, I haven't had any soda. So, when I finally got to the doctor that was the first question I asked, if I could have soda. I was very pleased with his answer and went out the same day to get my fix.

July 4th

We had a fun day on the 4th. The boys only worked until 3, so we ate and headed off to the park where there was a carnival and fireworks show. They had live music and of course funnel cake. The show was cool, Eli didn't think so at first, but he ended up falling asleep. It was a good time with good friends.

Eli has been to almost every mall around Houston, and with all the commotion and activity of the mall and being pushed around in his stroller, he never seems to fall asleep.........except when he's in the Snugli.

Oh Onion

Claire has a stuffed bear (that she made at the build A Bear workshop in downtown Disney) named Onion.....yes. You can ask her yourself why she named him that. Well, Eli is iN lOvE with Onion. He is almost as enamored with Onion as he is with Claire. Almost. Claire is a sport and lets Eli play with/drool on him whenever he wishes. Thanks auntie Claire!

Eli is quite popular with the women in his life. Not to mention his four aunts that adore him, we have a lot of wonderful women close to our family that are just as much a part of his life. Where ever we go he always seems to draw them in.

I got shots today.....

....and look what they did to my chubby legs

Yes it's true, I made Claire come with me and we put my sweetheart through his worst nightmare. (Well, my worst nightmare. I can't stand needles) Eli was such a champ. The nurse had me hold his arms and all of the sudden Eli's face turned bright red and he was holding that crying face where no sound comes out. She was quick as a fox and before I knew it we were done. Eli was fine by the time we left the room and fell asleep on the way home. The doctor said the shots either make them sleepy or grumpy all day, I guess I got lucky. Speaking of being lucky, I would just like to give a shout out to the pediatrician's office that I went to, LOVED IT. Loved the nurses, loved the staff, loved the doctor, loved the facility, I even loved the shot lady who pricked my son with needles. If anyone ever needs a pediatrician in Houston, Great Kids Pediatrics is the place to go.

Now, on to the good stuff. My baby is now 11 weeks and 5 days old. Height=25 inches, 94th percentile. Weight=12 pounds 12 ounces, 50th percentile. Head=50th percentile. PERFECT!

LoVe

Eli's aunt Claire will always hold a special place in his heart. She lives with us now, and has since he was three weeks old. He lights up whenever she comes around, always gives her the best smiles, and STARES at her whenever she's in sight. We call her his girlfriend, he is obsessed. (We'll need to stop that as soon as he's old enough to understand.) They are two peas in a pod. If only I could get her to let him sleep in her room.
