Twenty-Nine Weeks

I am 29 weeks and 1 day today! (as you can see on my handy dandy baby ticker). You also may have noticed that Mike and I have chosen a name for the little guy, Eli Todd Walker. We are so excited and can't wait the two and a half months we have left to meet him! I personally can't wait to fit into my skinny jeans and heels again, but that's a different story. I spent my 28th week of pregnancy in Utah enjoying the snow! Mike and I went to Bear Lake with some of his work peeps, and we had a really good time. Mike loved the snow and riding snow mobiles, I loved the warmth of the inside. I did make it outside to take a few pictures, including a couple of belly pictures. Enjoy!

A Sneak Peak

Ok, here are a couple of pictures for those of you naggers.  I will try my best to be a better picture blogger, still having camera problems.  Anywho, here they are.  I am sick right now so please ignore the red nose and baggy eyes, and lack of makeup.  Well this is me at 26 weeks.  Enjoy!

We Have Delivery!

Good news everybody, my beloved kidney stone has passed!  My days of pain killers and side aches are over.......for now.  I saw the doctor today and he so graciously informed me that the worst may not be over, the worst being MORE kidney stones!  So for now I'll just cross my fingers and hope for the best, and after the babe is born Doc. will scan me and make sure I'm kidney stone free.  He tried to put a positive spin on it by telling me that if I do get another one, at least I will know what to tell them at the hospital instead of spending 6 hours in the ER.  To Dr. B the glass is always half full.  So for now, fortunately, I just have good news to share.  Let's hope it stays that way.

My First ER/Hospital Experience

This past weekend was kind of a crazy one.  I'd been having horrible pains in my side and when I called my doctor, he gave me his doctorly advise and sent me on my way.  Well, when it didn't get better and I had been writhing in pain most of the night, Mike called him again the next morning and it was then that Dr. B. told us we needed to get to the ER right away!  Now, my doctor sugar coats everything as to not scare his pregnant patients, but he was pretty adamant about us getting there ASAP!  So we arrived at Fallbrook Hospital at about 10:00 in the morning.  Most of the day was spent in the ER waiting for test results, getting poked and prodded with needles (which I am terrified of by the way), and the occasional much needed shot of morphine.  After six long hours in the ER I was told I had a kidney stone.  Seriously, being pregnant isn't enough?  There has to be the added discomfort and excruciating pain of having a kidney stone?  And to top it off, because I am pregnant, they can't do the normal high intensity sonogram to break it up and just get rid of it, no.  I had to be admitted to the hospital and just wait it out.  Before Friday I had never stayed in a hospital, never had an IV, and never had any pain killer stronger than extra strength Tylenol.  But within two days of being in the hospital I had been poked with needles more times than ever, and had morphine, demerol, and vicodin running all through my body.  Since the hospital wasn't doing more than keeping the pain bearable, I was sent home Sunday evening with pain killers to wait it out.  So that's exactly what I'm doing.  It is now Thursday, almost a week has gone by and this sucker doesn't feel like leaving me alone.  The good thing is, I haven't been on anything for the past two days (it was making me nauseous and I'm skeptical about how safe it really is for the baby), so hopefully that means I'll deliver soon!  And may I just say that I love Fallbrook Hospital.  I stayed in the labor and delivery ward of the hospital, which is where I'll be when I have the baby, and it was so nice.  The nurses are great and the accommodations were wonderful.  I believe I got the only single room they had and everyone was so great!  The circumstances were unfortunate, but I'm glad I got a taste of what It's like, and it was a good one!  So wish me luck and hope this is over soon.

Big News!

A lot has happened since the last time I posted, but I guess the one thing worth mentioning is......WE'RE EXPECTING!  Yes, I am now 5 months pregnant and Mike and I are expecting our bundle of joy April 6th.  My best friend just had her baby yesterday and she is adorable.  Every once in while I'll look at the text message she sent me with the picture, and just kind of lurk.  I get so excited for when it's my turn.  So for those of you who don't already know the gender, I'm sure the anticipation has been building up, so....it's a BOY!  Mike and I are both so excited!  I've even bought some clothes and I have them lying out in the living room, I love to just look at them.  Unfortunately my camera is MIA, but I will post pictures as soon as I can for those of you who would like to see the wonders of a pregnant belly.

Lexus' New Toy

So when Mike came home from the gym this morning he woke me up and wanted me to look at what he got for Lexus. So I turn over to see him holding this HUGE bone and he is grinning from ear to ear, he thought it was the coolest thing. Lexus has not let it out of her sight all morning, how can she! She carries it around the best she can without bumping into things, and she keeps walking into rooms and getting stuck in the doorway cuz the bone wont fit! So I took a video so you can see for yourself how intense it is.

A Fun Fourth

So can I just say we threw the BEST fourth of July bash ever! Cassie, Whitney, and I make such yummy food and spent all day preparing for the guys to come home. Then we were off to downtown Austin to watch fireworks, it was amazing! First of all we got a great spot on the grass right in front of all the News vans and on a hill so no one was in our way, and while the guys were off getting us funnel cakes, Channel 8 News came up to us and asked us all to do a promotional clip. So if anyone is ever in Texas, make sure you watch for us on News 8 Austin! We played Taboo and Mafia while we ate our delicious food and waited for the fireworks to start. Then the Austin Orchestra started playing in the background as the fireworks show started, they were going off just to the left of the city. It was really nice and we all had a great time!
